Win sets up Scots semi

- BY DEREK FOLEY

BLUES 'GOW FORTH

LEINSTER were patchy at times but had enough in tank to defeat Scarlets and book a URC semi-final spot with Glasgow next week.

Hugo Keenan was man of the match but was pushed closely by Jamison Gibson-Park while Dan Sheehan, despite only coming in for the last half-hour, was particularly noticeable.

In front of an Aviva Stadium crowd of 12,879 James Lowe bagged the home side's opening try as early as the fifth minute.

It arrived in the wake of Gibson-Park opting to go left from a ruck with Sam Prendergast, Keenan and Jack Conan handling before the No.8 fed his left winger.

The cover had come inside leaving Lowe in space with the relatively easy task of running it in.

The second came five minutes later, beginning with Leinster being set at a ruck close to the left touchline on the Scarlets 22m.
