37 State artworks have gone missing

Historic art pieces considered to be worth millions

A STAGGERING 37 pieces of historic works are missing from the State Art Collection, we can reveal.

The items are officially listed as "unlocated" at the moment and are currently unaccounted for pending an investigation.

It appears they vanished while out at exhibitions around the country.

There are 13,500 pieces in the State Art Collection, which are believed to be worth millions, and are the responsibility of the Art Management Office of the Office of Public Works.

The collection contains paintings which are of historic significance and contemporary works by emerging artists in the early days of their careers.
