Witnesses appeal after man is found unconscious

GARDAI have issued an appeal for witnesses after a man was found unconscious early yesterday.

Officers were alerted to the incident shortly before 12.30am and attended the scene on Winthrop Street in Cork where a male was discovered unresponsive.

The man, aged in his 20s, was brought to Cork University Hospital where, gardai said he remains in a serious condition.
