RICHARD Satchwell described his wife Tina as a “street angel, house devil" and claimed she had broken two of his teeth, his murder trial heard yesterday.

- BY PAUL HEALY Crime Correspondent

A witness also told the trial that Ms Satchwell had said to him at a car boot sale that she had “one man and one man only and I loved him so much”.

The 12th day of the trial of Satchwell, 58, who has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife Tina at their home in Grattan Street in Youghal, Co Cork, heard how the accused replied with the words: “Guilty or not guilty, guilty’ after he was formally charged on the night of October 13, 2023.

Detective Garda David Kelleher, who the court heard charged Satchwell in Cobh Garda station in the absence of his solicitor, also denied a question from defence counsel Brendan Grehan SC about whether his client was "paraded' into Cashel District Court in front of the media the following day.
