BRANDON THOMAS-ASANTE'S double helped COVENTRY move four points clear at the top of the Championship with victory at PORTSMOUTH.

With Middlesbrough in second not playing until tonight, the Sky Blues extended their lead at the summit with a 2-1 win.

Thomas-Asante nodded home for his seventh of the season to put Coventry in front on the half hour. And he got his eighth in the second half, firing in from outside the area. Pompey pulled one back late on through Makenzie Kirk.
