TOM MCKIBBIN pocketed a cool €118,000 at a LIV Golf event in Virginia on Sunday, bolstering his earnings since joining the controversial tour.

Despite a cautionary word from five-time Major winner Rory Mcllroy about giving up his PGA Tour Card, the 22-year-old decided to jump ship to LIV Golf this year, reportedly tempted by a €4.75m signing offer.

“If I were in his position, I wouldn't make that decision,” the Masters title holder said after McKibbin's announcement of signing with the Saudi-backed series.
