Cardiff boss can't mess up Welsh derby

- BY GLEN WILLIAMS

CARDIFF head coach Brian Barry-Murphy is under no illusions about what tonight's Carabao Cup tie against Wrexham means to supporters.

And he admits he can only dream of replicating Phil Parkinson's remarkable success at the Racecourse Ground.

The League One Bluebirds travel north for a sold-out all-Welsh clash in the fourth round, with both clubs eyeing a place in the quarterfinals.

Wrexham v Cardiff would have been a regular fixture for fans of a certain vintage. But this will be their first meeting for more than 23 years.

"By nature, this is a tie where the whole club is really excited," said Barry-Murphy.

"From the first round, our intention was to give ourselves a chance to encounter a tie which we wouldn't expect.
