State abuse hunger strike group 'weak'

SURVIVORS of institutional abuse are weak and struggling with mental health as they enter the sixth day of hunger strike.

Six activists have been sleeping rough outside Leinster House as they call for long-promised State support.

Maurice O'Connell said they will not stop until Education Minister Helen McEntee, who holds the survivors' redress scheme brief, meets them.
