Sons out, declares Canavan

TYRONE great Peter Canavan has revealed that his son Ruairi is facing six weeks out with a hamstring injury.

- BY PAUL KEANE

Attacker Ruairi was taken off early in Tyrone's McKenna Cup win over Down last weekend and looks set to miss at least half of their National League campaign.

It's a significant blow to boss Malachy O'Rourke, who also lost Niall Devlin to a similar injury in the 0-18 to 1-11 win over Down.

Peter doesn't anticipate that his other son, Darragh, will be fit for the start of the League on Saturday week either.
