Satchwell denies murder of wife Tina

Jury of seven women and five men sworn in for six-week trial

A JURY has been sworn in for the trial of Richard Satchwell after he pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife Tina.

Mr Satchwell, 58, appeared before Judge Kerida Naidoo at a sitting of the Central Criminal Court in Dublin at 2pm yesterday, charged with the murder of Tina, 45, at an address on Grattan Street, Youghal, Co Cork, on March 19 and 20, 2017.

A jury of seven women and five men were sworn in before Judge Naidoo just before 3:40pm yesterday afternoon.

They have been given until this morning, when the trial is set to commence, to select a foreperson.
