SHAY Given has debunked one Saipan myth by detailing an occasion ahead of the 2002 World Cup that highlighted Roy Keane's “funny side.”

Keane famously stormed out of Ireland's pre-World Cup base after a blazing row with boss Mick McCarthy .

“In terms of standout memories with Roy — aside from the obvious one with Mick McCarthy, | got reminded of another one the other day,” said the former Newcastle goalkeeper.

"Someone was trying to wind me up, saying one of the reasons Roy left the camp in Saipan was because we were taking the mickey out of him all the time.
