Cascarino believes future is bleak for Irish football
TONY Cascarino fears Irish football has yet to hit rock bottom after The Atrocity in Armenia.
The former Irish star admits he risks being called a ‘dinosaur’ by harking back to the glory days of Italia 90 but even so he is alarmed by how poor Ireland’s performance was in Yerevan.
Big Cas said: “The future is bleak. I'm sorry to say that but where is the next great player coming from?
“Evan Ferguson was the last to emerge. Who is coming after him?
“Looking at our midfield the other night, I am worried. The result was bad but the performance was troubling.
“And okay people will say the same thing, that I am always referencing the past and am a dinosaur for doing so.
