'Poison' arrest over kids camp

Man, 76, is held as 8 youngsters are hospitalised

A PENSIONER has been arrested on suspicion of poisoning after eight children at a countryside summer camp in the UK were hospitalised.

Police were called to the “critical incident” after the youngsters fell ill at a youth centre owned by a Christian charity.

Paramedics took eight to hospital and Leicestershire Police arrested a man, 76, on suspicion of “administering poison/a noxious thing with intent to injure/aggrieve/ annoy”.

The report was initially made “by a third party” last Sunday, cops said.
