THE conclusion of the National League yesterday probably came with a predictable outcome.

Jack O'Connor (below) doesn't lose too many finals. Much of the talk in the lead up to this year's showpiece reflected on how his four previous All-Ireland successes were all doubled up with league titles. In this context, he is halfway there for 2025.

The truth is his Kerry team were by far the better team against Mayo.

To be honest, I probably knew it was going to be a long day for Mayo when I saw they were wearing their shocking alternative kit. The margin at the end was six points but in reality, it was a six-point hammering.

That said, I thought Mayo started the game quite well and for the first 15 minutes looked relatively comfortable.
