O'Brien hails mentality of first-leg hero Boyd
Irish Daily Star
|July 11, 2025
SHELBOURNE boss Joey O'Brien says he has been given a huge Champions League headache ahead of next week's second leg in Windsor Park.
O'Brien (above) will have to decide whether to start Mipo Odubeko and Sean Boyd up front together or leave one of his forwards on the bench, as he did in Wednesday's night's first leg against Linfield.
Within two minutes of Boyd coming on, the Dubliner teed up Odubeko to score the only goal of the game. And Boyd had a great opportunity himself to add to Shelbourne's advantage.
O'Brien admitted that the pair clicked as soon as the substitution was made, but that starting Boyd on the bench wasn't an easy decision to make.
