No sign of a Sludden impact yet

A RELUCTANCE by Tyrone clubs to embrace change is hampering efforts to ease fixture congestion, according to county chairman Martin Sludden.

Proposals aimed at starting adult leagues earlier in the year have failed to garner the support of clubs, and as a result, fixture pile-ups which have dogged the county for years are set to continue in 2026.

Club grounds will remain empty for the first five months of the year, creating a "ghost town effect that does nothing for player engagement or club spirit," Sludden told delegates at annual convention.
