Gardai block off road at crash scene
THE next time you are out driving on the roads, have a good long chat with yourselves.
Do I want to behave like a lunatic and kill someone, or do I want to act responsibly, drive safely, respect the law and other road users?
Every time you go out on the roads these days you are taking your life in your hands. You don't know what the idiot driving in front of you, behind, or beside you is going to do next.
Some are speeding and tailgating, while some are drunk-driving and, worse still, drug-driving.
Then there are the drivers who are obsessed with their phones and who are text-messaging while they cruise down the motorway oblivious to what is going on around them.
The biggest shock for me in the past week was not the antics of Donald Trump and his excursion into Venezuela - but the horrific statistics from gardai that 25 people died on Irish roads over the five-week Christmas period.
