Mum tells of moment she had to ID Dylan after horror hit-and-run Fury at fatal crash driver's jail sentence as she vows to appeal

A MOTHER whose son was killed in a horror hit-and-run has described the moment she had to identify him at the scene.

Dylan Killalee Maher, 21, died in November 2023 after Cameron Cooper, 23, hit him while driving at twice the speed limit.

His mum, Catherine Killalee said her family has been "destroyed" by her son's death, and she's unhappy at the sentence Cooper received.

The driver called emergency services in the wake of the fatal crash but instead of seeking help, he falsely told gardai his car had been stolen in an attempt to avoid blame, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard.

Two hours later he presented himself to a Garda station.
