School principal's moving tribute to boy who died in beach horror

A YOUNG boy who died after getting into difficulty in the ocean was described yesterday as “warm and full of kindness”.

Seven-year-old Alan Singh had been swimming at Lissadell Beach in Co Sligo on Saturday afternoon when tragedy struck.

He was given medical assistance onshore before being airlifted to Sligo University Hospital, where he sadly died.

Alan was a pupil at St John's National School in Ballisodare and his father Iqbaljeet runs the 5 in 1 takeaway restaurant in the town.
