Martin voting for Heather in ballot

TAOISEACH Micheal Martin plans to vote for Fine Gael Presidential candidate Heather Humphreys in the forthcoming presidential election.

Speaking in Millstreet, Co Cork yesterday Mr Martin was coy in relation to whether it would be his first time voting for a Fine Gael candidate in an election.

He said he had “made his point’ and anything else involved the “privacy of the ballot paper”.

Mr Martin added his "personal position” was to vote for Ms Humphreys.

He added: “In terms of my of my own personal position, and it will be a personal decision, I am pro-European, I am pro the European Union. I am pro the enterprise economy.
