Sancho spoils it, but ipswich show Delap exit may not be fatal

- BY PAUL BROWN

LIAM-LESS...NOT LIFELESS

IPSWICH got a glimpse of life without Liam Delap and it didn't look that bad.

With their star striker starting among the subs because of a rib injury, the Tractor Boys jumped into a two-goal first-half lead.

Goals from Julio Enciso and Ben Johnson, who scored in the top flight for the first time in four years, put them in the driving seat at Stamford Bridge. But an Axel Tuanzebe own goal got Chelsea back into it at the start of the second half before Jadon Sancho's thunderbolt levelled it up. By then, Chelsea target Delap was on the pitch, and yes, it took some heroics from Alex Palmer, who made eight saves, to safeguard a point.

But if he really does leave this summer, there will be life for Ipswich without Delap.
