Irish are more likely to go to Asia than county

IRISH people are more likely to have been to Asia than to Leitrim, a new survey of travel habits shows.

While a quarter have been to Asia, only 18 per cent have visited the north-western county with Ireland’s lowest population.

The study, carried out by short-term rental platform Airbnb, also found that as many of us (15 per cent) have gone to Africa as Monaghan.

And some 76 per cent of us say they have never visited the Midlands county of Westmeath.
