WHAT Meath defender Seamus Lavin has achieved this spring is pretty impressive.
The Dunboyne man has walked back into inter-county football after three seasons away and started every game in this year's National Football League.
Lavin's last outing with the Royals was the 2021 Leinster semi-final against Dublin at Croke Park, a straight knockout game due to restrictions around the Covid pandemic, an which Meath lost by 2-16 to 1-13.
He is one of five starters from that game who are regulars under new boss Robbie Brennan, the others being Donal Keogan, Bryan Menton, Jordan Morris and Mathew Costello (currently injured).
The now 30 year old chartered accountant left that year for Toronto to work in tech and software before returning last year to help Dunboyne to the Meath semi-final, knocking out holders Summerhill along the way.
Fellow Dunboyne man Brennan succeeded Colm O'Rourke as Meath manager.
"I know Robbie," continues Lavin. "Robbie's an honest guy.
