JACK: I'VE BREEN WAITING TO SEE THE REAL MIKE

KERRY manager Jack O'Connor was full of praise for centre-back Mike Breen after his storming performance in Saturday's All-Ireland SFC (Group 2) opener against Roscommon in Killarney.

While David Clifford, Paul Geaney and Gavin White found the net in the hosts' ten-point victory, the Kingdom boss saluted the Beaufort man for his perseverance after long-term injuries.

“That's the Mike Breen that I've been waiting for, for a long time. I had him as a minor in 2015 and I always felt that he had great talent,” said O'Connor (above).

“He's just got an injury-free run, aside from the little bit of a niggle he picked up there in the league final. He's growing into the role.
