Corporate America was not slow to notice the trend.

Earlier this month, O'Shaughnessy Distilling in Minneapolis announced it was offering its own spice bag, which has already become the most popular food item on its menu.

The Minnesota distillery boasted to be "the first spot in the state" serving the delicacy, though they gave it a Midwestern American twist by tossing in cheese curds.

The distillery also hosts weddings and has decided to include miniature spice bags as a midnight snack from here on out.

Others saw the potential to create a spin-off of their own.

Last month, Potatoes USA, the American potato industry's marketing arm, unveiled what it called "Fry Bags".
