Ringrose vows to learn from red-card experience

- MICHAEL SCULLY

I'LL TACKLE MY SHORTCOMINGS

GARRY RINGROSE insists that his first ever red card and subsequent tackle school experience won't change his aggressive mindset.

The 30-year-old was surprised that his head-on-head challenge on Ben Thomas of Wales was upgraded to a 20-minute dismissal in Cardiff in round three of this Six Nations campaign.

He sat out last week's Grand Slam-killing defeat to France but will return for the final round clash with Italy in Rome on Saturday - much to the annoyance of Les Bleus, the new title favourites.

Romain Ntamack yesterday claimed it was an "injustice" on World Rugby's part that he missed two Six Nations games to one for Ringrose.

Both went through the tackle school process to miss two instead of three matches.

Ntamack raged: "I think we must start pounding our fist on the table because it is time these decisions going against us and costing us dearly stop."

Leinster's URC encounter with Cardiff was counted as part of Ringrose's ban but Toulouse's collision with Clermont did not make the French out-half's suspension list.
