Gillespie's first Irish woman on the podium

LARA Gillespie produced a superb ride to become the first Irish woman to claim a podium place in the Tour de France Femmes yesterday.
Gillespie, ridinbg for UAE Team ADQ, finished third on stage four in Poitiers which saw Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx-Protime) take her second sprint victory in as many days ahead of Dutch race leader Marianne Vos of Team Visma-Lease a Bike.
Gillespie (24) had positioned herself near the front of the peloton in a bunched sprint finish.
