Report finds cops thought doctored clips may go viral

GARDAI are worried about using force during protests over concerns that doctored clips may be shared on social media, a new report has found.

The Policing Authority was requested by then-Justice Minister Helen McEntee to review public order policing following the Dublin Riots in November 2023.

Throughout the report, it was stated that it was "not an examination of the events of 23 November 2023".

The Authority broke down the report into 11 "findings and key themes".

These included resources, both personnel and equipment, use of force, public order training, and an "inconsistent view of what public order policing is for the Garda Siochana".
