Gosden's superstar colt has real Sussex appeal at Goodwood

- BY JASON HEAVEY

FIELD OF GOLD (3.05) can steal the show on day two of Glorious Goodwood.

The beautiful grey brought the house down at Royal Ascot with a scintillating display to win the St James's Palace Stakes.

Today he bids for his third straight Group One victory in the Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes and he will go off a very hot favourite at around 2-5.

John and Thady Gosden have recruited William Buick to stand in for the suspended Colin Keane.

Field Of Gold was three-and-a-half lengths clear of Henri Matisse at Ascot and Aidan O'Brien's French 2,000 Guineas winner is in opposition again.

I fancy him to get a bit closer today but there is no reason why he should turn the tables apart from if Field Of Gold has an off day.

Rosallion was nutted by Docklands in the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot and there could be little between them.

Richard Hannon's beast will have to recapture his absolute brilliant best to trouble Field of Gold - if he does then we could have a serious race.

Docklands is a big price at 22-1 and it is frustrating there are only seven runners but he remains the standout each-way selection.
