Extra jail for Fat Freddie son over prison melee

THE son of gangster 'Fat' Freddie Thompson has been sentenced to a further 18 months' imprisonment for his role in a prison melee.

Brad Dempsey, 24. of Stannaway Road, Crumlin, Dublin was involved in a jail assault in Mountjoy in 2018.

Dempsey kicked the victim once after he had been put on the floor during a melee, Garda David Graham told the court.

Dempsey pleaded guilty to affray at Mountjoy Prison on December 18, 2018. He is currently serving an eight-year prison term imposed in 2022 for firearms offences.
