Gay penguins step in to raise young
A SAME-SEX penguin couple has stepped in to hatch and raise a baby chick that was born after being rejected by its parents at a zoo.
Scampi and Flounder took on parenting roles after 10 rare Humboldt penguin chicks arrived in April at Chester Zoo in the UK.
The duo came forward to help raise one of two eggs, which were laid by another penguin pair called Wotsit and Peach.
