THE Ryder Cup, gets underway on Friday at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York, about 40-minutes' drive from Manhattan.

Bethpage Black is a notoriously difficult municipal course, with extreme elevation changes.

The rough, traditionally thick and penal for major championships, will be cut right back for the Ryder Cup to set up loads of birdie opportunities.

Since the Miracle at Medinah in 2012, every one of the five subsequent Ryder Cups have been won by the home team by a minimum of five points.

Luke Donald has a talented team, however, and the 7/4 on them to win outright looks a value bet. Every one of Keegan Bradley's USA side is ranked in the top 25.

Sam Burns is their lowest ranked at No23 and seven of the team are among the top ten best players on the planet. Half of Donald's team are top 15.

The two best players in the world, Scottie Scheffler and Rory Mcllroy, will be in opposition and they will have a key leadership role on both sides this week.

Scheffler is 6/1 to be the top overall points scorer and 7/2 to be top scoring American, while Mcilroy is 9/1 to top score overall and a good bet at 9/2 to be top scoring European.
