AS FULHAM AVOID CUP COLLAPSE

MARCO SILVA saw his Fulham side end a four-game losing streak - but only thanks to Benjamin Lecomte's penalty-saving heroics.

- BY IAN BAKER

The Frenchman made three magnificent spot-kick stops to deny Ewan Henderson, Fred Onyedinma and Donnell McNeilly as League One side Wycombe came so close to an upset at Adams Park.

The players' entrance was delayed as they attempted to emerge from the tunnel as the sprinklers were left on.

And it was Wycombe who were switched on from the off as they took a shock lead on four minutes. Jamie Mullins drove forward and flicked it to Cauley Woodrow who struck powerfully from 20 yards to leave Lecomte with no chance.

It was the on-loan Luton striker's third goal for the Chairboys as he took advantage of a change of EFL Cup rule to play against his former club despite appearing for his parent club in the competition.
