Band took their time with new album
IRISH alt-rockers The Altered Hours are back with their eagerly awaited self-titled third album, a record written in "little bursts".
Brimming with sonic chemistry, the new album, out today, comes around four years after the release of their acclaimed second record, Convertible, and follows an extensive period of touring from the group, who are lauded as one of Ireland's most revered underground bands.
The new album was penned in "little bursts along the way", co-vocalist Cathal MacGabhann told The Scene, chatting about the new self-titled LP.
"There was a whirlwind of writing, and then the session maybe wasn't for another year after that," Cathal said.
"After Convertible was released, we actually gigged an awful lot, like probably the most amount of touring we've ever done, and us being kind of a fairly independent band, that kind of took a lot out of us.
