Couple who took back Nikita 'evidence' plead their innocence | Coarse rant at media after running from our questions
THE couple facing possible charges over alleged perjury in Conor McGregor's failed appeal ran from this paper as they claimed: "We're not liars."
Samantha O'Reilly and Stephen Cummins, whose "evidence" in favour of the UFC fighter's appeal was dramatically withdrawn by his legal team at the final hour, are not only being referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), but are now being sued by Nikita Hand for malicious abuse of the courts process.
This paper confronted the couple, who are living in the west Dublin area - but they were in no mood for talking with Ms O'Reilly shouting expletives from the window of her home as she insisted she doesn't care what anybody thinks of her.
Told that she was being accused of telling lies in court over her sworn and ultimately withdrawn claims that she witnessed Ms Hand possibly being assaulted by her former partner on the night she said she was raped - Ms O'Reilly told us: "Yeah I don't care. F**k, the whole world can call me whatever. I know what I am. I know me. Keep recording," she said.
She also complained about the coverage of the case and said: "Want to put that in your paper? Want to put that in your paper? Do you want to have blood on your hands, do you?" We first approached her partner Stephen Cummins, who scurried back into his home as he told us to "go away".
TIRADE
We put it to Mr Cummins that he too was being accused of telling lies to which he said: "No, I'm not a liar. Just go away will you please.
