Suspended teacher Enoch: Government took every penny

GENDER row teacher Enoch Burke was yesterday back at the school he was sacked from - as he slammed the Government for taking "every penny" of his.

Burke could be facing another spell of imprisonment as he once again showed up to Wilson's Hospital School in Westmeath as new term began after the summer holidays.

He was dismissed because he said his religious beliefs prevented him from addressing a pupil as "they".

The former German and history teacher returned to the school on Thursday as it reopened for incoming first-year students. Speaking outside the campus yesterday, Mr Burke got emotional as he said: "This is where I should be today.

"Not only do I have to stand in the corridor and be stopped from teaching and doing my duty but my salary is being stripped off me.
