IT WAS this time 25 years ago, when a family found out that their pet duck had broken a Guinness world record with its gargantuan egg.
In November 1999, Kitty and Willie Costello, from Tuam in Co Galway, contacted Guinness World Records, then known as Guinness Book of Records, about a particularly large egg their duck, Queen Maeve, had passed.
