Alcaraz enters history books with victory
AS one Spanish history-maker watched on eagerly from the front row, another etched his name into the record books.
At 22 years and 272 days old, Carlos Alcaraz is now the youngest man ever to complete the tennis career Grand Slam.
With his victory over Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final, the man from Murcia completed his quest to collect all of the biggest prizes the game has to offer.
Alcaraz has now won all four titles faster than American Don Budge, whose record stood since 1938.
He stands alongside Fred Perry, Rod Laver, Roy Emerson, Andre Agassi and Roger Federer in completing the career Grand Slam.
