Martin got Jim tenant warning

TAOISEACH Micheal Martin said he was told about Jim Gavin having an issue with a tenant before he was selected as Fianna Fail's Aras candidate.

- BY CIARA O'LOUGHLIN Political Correspondent

The party leader survived a marathon five-hour long parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday night, where members discussed a long-awaited review into its failed presidential campaign.

Mr Gavin sensationally quit the race in October after it was revealed he owed €3,300 to a former tenant.

It's understood the tone of Tuesday's meeting was very different from a gathering of TDs and senators in October, when Mr Martin was apologetic and said he was devastated by what transpired.
