MAN RELEASED IN STABBING PROBE

A MAN arrested by gardai investigating the fatal stabbing of another man in Cork city has been released without charge.

Shortly after 4.30am on Sunday, emergency services went to the Hollyville area of Hollyhill after reports of a disturbance involving two people.

A man, who has been named locally as Mark O'Connell, 38, was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A postmortem examination has been completed, the results of which are not being disclosed for operational reasons.
