Mick knows career is on the line
MICK CONLAN admits his career is on the line when he steps into the ring with Kevin Walsh tonight.
The Belfast man is on his final charge towards a world title and knows another defeat will pull the curtains down on his 27 years in the sport he loves so much.
Conlan (20-3) faces undefeated American Walsh (19-0) at Belfast's SSE Arena as he returns to the venue for the first time since his December 2023 loss to Jordan Gill (above).
He was also beaten by Luis Alberto Lopez (right) in a IBF world title bout at the old Odyssey six months prior to that. "This is my last run towards a world title. If I was to lose again - and if I lost this one which I know I won't - but if I did that would be me calling it a day," said Conlan, who weighed in at 126 pounds yesterday, while Walsh tipped the scales at 125.4.
