'Let Maddie suspect lead a normal life'
Irish Daily Mirror
|September 10, 2025
CHRISTIAN Brueckner's lawyer says he does not believe his client will be charged over the Madeleine McCann case and must be allowed to live a “normal life" after prison.
Brueckner is to be released from a German jail by next Wednesday after a seven-year term for raping and beating a US pensioner in Portugal in 2005.
He is the prime suspect in the disappearance of then three-year-old Madeleine in the Algarve in May 2007.
In a blow to her parents Kate and Gerry, Brueckner's lawyer Friedrich Fuelscher said: “I do not expect any indictment in the Maddie case. I do not expect an indictment at all.
