La Voix: If I were asked to present Strictly... I'm not going to say no, am I?

And La Voix has confirmed she now has her eye on an even bigger prize than the Glitterball Trophy - the host's job.

Speculation over who will front the BBC1 series has been rife after long-time presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced they are stepping down after this series.

The drag performer says: "Strictly is the golden show of the BBC and I think anyone who's in the presenting world is going to want to do that show.

"Of course if the opportunity arose and I was asked to do it I'm not going to say, no, am I? That would be the opportunity of a lifetime.

"And I was very focused on making it very clear that I wanted that a few weeks ago. But now I think I need to buckle down and get the dancing learned otherwise I might be out quicker than I get the interview." La Voix is the stage persona of Chris Dennis. The 45-year-old grew up in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, and studied drama in London before developing the act for cabaret, stage and screen.

Chris first drew national attention on Britain's Got Talent, auditioning in 2007, 2013 and reaching the semi-finals in 2014.

And last year La Voix came runner-up in RuPaul's Drag Race UK.
