FORMER Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Eric Dier tried to inspire a Bayern Munich fightback - but Inter Milan held on to set up a semi-final with Barcelona.
Two goals in three minutes from the Serie A side at the San Siro was enough to hold off the injury-hit German giants.
England hero Kane will have to wait another year to go for European glory even if he will likely end his trophy drought by winning the Bundesliga this season.
Kane's 35th goal of the season seven minutes into the second half had Vincent Kompany's men dreaming of a comeback win after their 2-1 defeat in the first leg at the Allianz Arena.
