Gritty Draper digs deep to reach quarters... but Evans crashes out

- YASMIN SYED

JACK FLASH

JACK DRAPER came from a set down to book his spot in the quarter-finals at Queen's and is one victory away from being a top-four seed at Wimbledon.

The British No.1 needed more than two hours to beat Australia's Alexei Popyrin 3-6 6-2 7-6.

Draper, 23, was spurred on by the home crowd and his extended family, with his grandfather cheering him on from the front row.

Draper said: "It was tough. He was serving cannons and I felt quite low on my energy.

"I have not been feeling so good, I think I really got myself going. Maybe the crowd picked up on the fact that I needed that energy and, definitely, I felt that in the second and third set. I started to feel like they were behind me and in the tiebreak also.

"For me, family is the most important thing in the world.
