Celia's confession has stars cracking up..but next scary murder will wipe off smiles

- BY NICOLA METHVEN TV Editor

IT sparked many guffaws among Traitors and Faithfuls alike.

And Celia Imrie's hilarious telly trumpeting hit a high note with viewers too, as The Celebrity Traitors reached a series high of 6.9 million on Wednesday.

The players howled with laughter when the actress, 73, broke wind just as host Claudia Winkleman was introducing them to their latest mission.

When Claudia asked what had happened, The Thursday Murder Club and Bridget Jones star confessed: “I just farted Claudia. It's nerves, but I always own up.”

Afterwards some TV experts suggested Celia could be a contender for the next Memorable Moment Bafta.

Fans agreed, with one saying: “Her comic timing was impeccable. I watched this over and over again and am still laughing. TV moment of the year.”
