I don't know if old mate wants a fling or just friendship

I'm a woman in my 40s, recently divorced and trying to get my social life off the ground again.

A few months ago, I reconnected with a male friend from my college days and we've been chatting over social media. I always thought he was a great person and very funny, so it's been good to be back in touch.

My problem is, the last time we exchanged messages, he suggested meeting up, as he was going to be in the area for a work meeting. At first, I thought “great”, but then I started to worry that he might be thinking of it as some kind of date - and he's married with kids. He knows I'm divorced, God knows, I've bored him to tears with it, so maybe he thinks I'm in the market for a fling.
