'Gentle soul' Jimmy killed by car out walking

TRIBUTES are being paid to this “gentle soul" who died after he was struck by a car while he was out walking.

Named locally as James 'Jimmy’ Nolan, of Tinnecarrig in Borris, he was pronounced dead at the scene at Ballyroughan Big in Co Carlow on Saturday afternoon.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 60s, was unhurt in the incident.

Jimmy, who was in his 40s, attended the Delta Centre for people with special needs in Carlow.
