Alan Carr caused chaos on The Celebrity Traitors, and there's more fun as his hit quiz show returns

- WORDS: LAURA CARRENO-MÜLLER

Alan Carr is back in the hot seat for a new series of Picture Slam, the fast-paced quiz show where contestants must identify celebrity faces, global landmarks and cult classics using only pictures to win money - and he couldn't be happier to be hosting a show that makes him look smart.

"When I watch quizzes, I feel stupid," Alan says. "I'm doing a show where anyone can know the answer."

After a whirlwind year filming everything from Last One Laughing UK with Jimmy Carr to The Celebrity Traitors and even renovating homes with Amanda Holden, the comedian, 49, is relieved to slow down - at least slightly. "The year I've had!" Alan says. "I've been stressed out in the Traitors castle, I've done Last One Laughing and I've been building houses with Amanda Holden in 40-degree heat. So it's nice to pop on a suit and read some questions. It's like an oasis of calm for me. It's my me time, I come across as really clever when all the answers are in front of me."
