Brennan does not see more Dublin retirements on way

NEW Dublin manager Ger Brennan is not anticipating any fresh retirement ‘surprises’.

The Dubs squad that Brennan inherited from Dessie Farrell looks set to be held back from competitive activity until the League.

Game-breaker and captain Niall O'Callaghan was the only player who featured in Saturday's O'Byrne Cup opener that got game time in 2025.

The younger brother of King Con, who was joined by another brother, defender Eoghan, palmed in an early goal and added three second-half two pointers.

His starring role with 1-6 was eerily similar to how he stood out with two goals in Farrell's first game in charge, an O'Byrne Cup opener six years ago.

Fellow goalscorer Robert Shaw, Josh Bannon, Paidi White and Liam Smith had featured in previous O'Byrne Cup campaigns but aside from that it was a brand new group.
